In our fast-paced world full of efficiency, it's easy to lose sight of the fundamental elements that contribute to our overall well-being. In the pursuit of modern conveniences, we often overlook the simple, time-tested practices that can enhance our physical and mental health. I have loved getting back to the basics and have seen such a positive impact on my mental and physical health! Here are seven back-to-basic wellness ideas that can help you reconnect with our roots and prioritize our health.

Embrace the Morning Sunlight
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's crucial to make time for the natural healer that is the sun. Exposure to sunlight, especially in the early morning, has numerous health benefits. Not only does it provide a healthy dose of Vitamin D, but it also helps regulate our circadian rhythm. Taking a moment to watch the sunrise and sunset can have a profound impact on our sleep patterns, mood, and overall well-being.
Exposure to sunlight doesn't have to be long - just a quick 5-15 minutes! Also, if you don't physically see the sun where you live due to weather, don't worry - the sun can still do it's magic on you through the clouds!
Opt for Real Foods
Our world is dominated by processed and convenience foods and people have lost touch with real food. Returning to the basics of nutrition is a powerful step towards better health. Embrace a diet rich in whole, unprocessed foods. Choose grass-fed beef, organic produce, organic pasture raised chicken, and eggs, as well as quality dairy products. Limiting processed foods can reduce the intake of additives and preservatives, promoting a healthier digestive system and overall vitality.
Focusing on eating real foods has benefitted me so much over the last couple of years. It has helped me clear acne, regulate my hormones, and just feel good.
