My Story
Hi there! Welcome to my corner of the digital world! I'm Caylee, and I'm absolutely thrilled that you've found your way to this page. Let me take a moment to introduce myself - I'm a vibrant 26-year-old residing in the sun-soaked landscapes of Southern California, dedicating my professional life to being a pediatric speech therapist. Now, you might pause at the idea of someone my age discussing homemaking. I get it! But here's the thing - I've always been drawn to the joys of creating a cozy, loving space: from experimenting in the kitchen to adding personal touches through decor and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. My journey into embracing homemaking on a deeper level truly began about a year and a half ago when my partner and I moved into a snug one-bedroom apartment.
This shift ignited a passion within me for transforming any living space, no matter its size, into a place of warmth and comfort. However, I encountered a challenge - finding equilibrium between pursuing my passion for creating a nurturing home environment and excelling in my fulfilling career in speech therapy. It dawned on me that the traditional perception of a "Homemaker" needed a modern redefinition to align with the multifaceted roles and passions of individuals like me.
Hence, the concept of 'The Modern Homemaker' was born. My aim? To inspire a more comprehensive approach to homemaking, one that encompasses not just the physical space but also nurtures the mind, body, and home symbiotically. Admittedly, I'm still on my journey of discovery, continuously learning and growing in the art of homemaking. However, amidst this exploration, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights, motivating others to seek and embrace a harmonious balance between their mental, physical, and domestic realms.
Join me on this enriching expedition of honing the art of homemaking while fostering a holistic well-being that encompasses the essence of mind, body, and home. Together, let's discover the joy of crafting a life that resonates with warmth, authenticity, and contentment.
The Mind, Body and Home Philosophy
MIND
I believe that a happy home starts with a happy mind, which is why I encourage all homemaker's to focus on their mental wellbeing. By taking care of yourself first, you'll be able to show up as your best self and be better equipped to take care of your family and create a space that everyone loves coming home to.
BODY
It is impossible to care for a home and others if you are not taking care of yourself. That's why I prioritize nourishing meals, regular movement, and using low toxic options in my home. Taking care of my body allows me to tackle the daily responsibilities of homemaking with ease and joy.
HOME
Home is more than just a place to live, it’s a place to feel secure, comfortable, and at ease. My philosophy is that the home should be a haven – a refuge from the stresses of the outside world. That’s why I strive to create spaces that promote rest and rejuvenation while being beautiful and functional.
